Our Methodology

Every fact-check on Baynes World follows the same process — no shortcuts, no predetermined verdicts.

We find the original source of a claim and state it in its strongest form. We find the strongest version of the counter-argument. We build the documented record from primary sources first — court records, official documents, legislative text, peer-reviewed research — then corroborate across multiple independent outlets from across the spectrum. We check for the thing that fools most people: claims that are technically true but framed to mislead. Then, and only then, we reach a verdict the evidence actually supports.

If the evidence is mixed, the verdict says so. If a claim can’t be verified, we say that loudly — because anyone handing you a confident answer to an unverifiable claim is doing speculation with a badge on it.

We use a full range of verdicts, from True to Pants on Fire, plus honest labels like Unverifiable, Missing Context, and Opinion, Not Fact — because most real-world claims aren’t cleanly true or false. Every fact-check ends with a complete source list so you can retrace every step yourself.

Our bias is disclosed. Our sources are linked. Our corrections are public. You don’t have to trust us — you have to verify us.
