To those woman-haters in the “manosphere” who like to say women are inferior, or that men are superior in strength or intellect, I say this: without women, we would be absolutely nothing. Man and woman are two sides of the same coin. Each with our strengths, each with our weaknesses, and neither capable of existing without the other. We need them as much as they need us.
True equality between men and women was never meant to mean that we are equal in our capabilities. It means equal dignity, equal worth, and equal importance to this world. They say men lead and women follow, but without women, who would we be leading? Without them, men would have no purpose, no direction, no legacy. We would simply waste away.
People point to studies about single-parent homes and argue that single-father households produce better outcomes because of discipline. But I would argue that discipline is a lesson learned later in life. In those early, tender years, it is a mother’s empathy and compassion that shapes the soul of a child. And without both influences throughout your life you are simply missing out on something whatever it may be. The truth is, the best outcomes come from homes where both a mother and a father are present, where children receive the gift of both worlds, discipline and tenderness, strength and grace, together in harmony.
So Happy Mother’s Day to every mother on this planet. Thank you for your sacrifices, the seen and the unseen. Thank you for the sleepless nights, the quiet prayers, the endless giving. Thank you for your love, which asks for nothing in return and yet gives everything.
You are not just important. You are irreplaceable.
